Tuition Fees & Scholarship Opportunities — MSI at VGU

Discover the transparent, semester-based tuition fees and generous scholarship options for the MSI Master's program at VGU — including DAAD Sur-Place, VGU Merit, and AFS Industry Scholarships. Lab access included, no extra charges.

Tuition Fees

The MSI program at VGU is built on a principle of transparency and value: you know exactly what you pay, and you know exactly what you get. Tuition is structured in two distinct components depending on where you study.

Component 1 — VGU Semester Fee (Vietnam, Semesters 1–4)

Tuition is charged per semester at the start of each term — no lump-sum upfront payment. For the most current fee schedule, refer to the official VGU tuition page.

Key facts:

  • Fee lock-in: The tuition rate is fixed for your entire intake cohort — no mid-program price increases.
  • Scholarship reimbursement: If you are awarded a scholarship, the fee is paid at the start of the semester as required by Vietnamese government regulation, and the scholarship amount is returned to you near the end of that same semester.
  • All-inclusive: Your semester fee covers all standard academic activities, direct laboratory usage and equipment training, laboratory consumables on a regular learning basis, and access to campus library resources. There are no hidden lab fees or equipment procurement charges.

💡 In many Vietnamese universities, students must outsource characterization work — paying per sample to send to external institutes. At MSI, you have direct, first-hand access to our equipment from your very first semester, at no extra cost. This is a genuine and significant advantage.

Component 2 — OVGU Grant for Master's Thesis in Germany

Top-performing students have the opportunity to conduct part or all of their Master's Thesis research at OVGU Magdeburg, supported by a separate DAAD Mobility Scholarship (detailed below). This is not an additional tuition burden — it is a funded research opportunity at a German university, fully supported through the VGU-OVGU partnership.
