The MSI program draws on the expertise of faculty from the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU), the Vietnamese-German University (VGU), the Fraunhofer Institute (IMWS), and TU Bergakademie Freiberg. Students have the opportunity to contribute to research across 6 specialist Chairs at OVGU, alongside outstanding VGU researchers — covering the full breadth of Engineering Materials from solid-state physics and metallic materials to ceramics, polymer chemistry, and computational mechanics.
Our lecturers are more than instructors. They are active researchers who genuinely invest in student projects. Lecturers are known to support student research initiatives and, in a number of cases, have provided funding for student projects through their own research grants or institutional budgets. If you have a compelling idea and the drive to pursue it, the MSI program want to hear it.
